Having attended APP in 2024,I watched Barry's presentation. I had been in a long term partnership with another major bank through a broker and had various asset finance agreements in place with the same broker connected to that bank. I had tried my own due diligence and asked questions of my previous broker and enquired about better deals often. I always had the same response : the current deals with the NAB are the best :, well I decided to ask and emailed Barry which ended up in a great story. He and his team reviewed the portfolio of pharmacies and assets and were quite amazed at the expensive costing across the board. The deal took a while but it was all worth it. I had also changed accounting firms and by chance the two firms knew each other and have worked together before. We finally ended up with a tender process and a structure that has enabled me to end up with a better tax situation, cheaper funding and an all round better deal. This has also enabled me to work towards the opening of another store and the long term benefit of changing over to Thatcher finance is clear.
