I recently purchased a property subject to finance. Upon following up with three of the big 4 banks who had indicated I could borrow the relevant funds I was informed this was no longer the case due to heightened lending restrictions. I then contacted Ian from Mortgage Choice in Mentone and within the hour I was in his office going over my situation. Ian spent the afternoon with me reviewing my financial position and with his knowledge and tools available managed to submit an application with a major lender within a couple of days. Ian spent the time to understand my goals, finances and requirements and looked at multiple options. He constantly cleared his schedule to see me as he knew the urgency and time restraint I had. I then received an unconditional approval within 5 days! In addition to Ian's professionalism, his assistant Kate was also exceptional and constantly kept me up to date with any progress. I don't normally give reviews like this but in this case Ian and Kate deserve a great review. I highly recommend their services for anyone seeking a loan or a better deal with their current lender. 10/10 service

EDITED: In response to the below reply by Mortgage Choice. I went in for a pre-approval. That was the entire meeting. Of course I did not change my mind. Multiple times I communicated and was ignored. I find it quite interesting that someone responded to my negative review within hours of me posting it but I couldn't get a response after waiting 15 weeks to hear about a pre-approval. Terrible customer service. To cut a very long story short; I met with Ian around July 20th - spent approximately 2 hours at his office. About 8 weeks later after hearing nothing I emailed following up - this was ignored. I again emailed 1 week later only to be told that all my pay slips and paperwork were "out of date". I re-sent it all again at the end of August. I again heard nothing. By November (and approximately 15 weeks after our meeting!!) I was feeling very disappointed and placed a formal complaint with Mortgage Choice head office about how I was treated. After around 3 weeks the 1 sentence response I received was basically "sorry we wasted your time", with no explanation as to WHY. The whole experience was terrible. From the Sandringham branch to the response I received about my detailed complaint from Mortgage Choice's complaints department. If you don't have the capacity or time to take on a client then I think perhaps you shouldn't.
