I had a loan via a Broker during construction phase. It was during pandemic so the interest rates were lower. Once the house was completed, because of delays the interest rate was as peak. I was struggling with my borrowing capacity and was paying very high interest rates. Our House Purchase Journey in Perth: Salam! This is about our journey of buying our first house in Australia via Burj Financial Services. If only I could write a book on how amazing these people are and the service they are actually doing to mankind by making Islamic financing easy and doable for everyone! Got told by someone that a person called Imran Haider is the founder. So, we randomly called Imran Bhai, and only 10 minutes into the conversation, we knew we have found what we were looking for. A very competitive yet calm and helpful person who would never get annoyed even if you ask a million and one questions. Buying our first house - we were totally naive on finance part of it, totally unfamiliar with terms and jargon. Imran Bhai walked us baby steps. First explained us what Islamic Finance is and how does this model work. Not for a minute he let us feel that we are living in two different time zones as he would answer in no time. The whole experience was very personalized and I am so happy we found team Burj. For a reference, I would like to mention that we gave Burj a total of 90 phone calls (insane, I know), but they never felt irked and sometimes Imran Bhai would reply to our emails even during the night, as NSW was 3 hours ahead of us. PREAPPROVAL: Anyhow, we submitted the required paperwork around September and decided to start looking for houses once the preapproval comes (Islamic finance preapprovals take up to 2 weeks). However, the very next day, while random scrolling, this one property came up, we did an inspection and loved the house. On our way back home, we were completely clueless and sad also, as to how will we qualify as there is no preapproval (it had just started to process). Again, we called the savior called Imran Bhai and explained this to him. I remember his words; 'Hira, are you sure you like the house and want to buy it 100%? Just leave everything on me then!'. He provided us with an eligibility letter the same day. Now this is nothing special if one is going conventional, but the Islamic lenders do not provide any such guarantees or letters as I explained earlier. Imran Bhai also called our property manager and gave him a detailed surety that everything is good, and we are eligible buyers. FINAL APPROVAL: Now the actual formal approval process - Imran Bhai tailored our application in the best way so we get accepted 100%. He always told how he will handle the scenario X using the method Y. When the application got submitted, the lender asked for additional documents, explanations and paperwork at each step. Team Burj addressed every question and concern in the smartest way possible. It would be unfair to not mention Abdullah and Sunaila from Burj. Both of them work with Imran Bhai and are heroes. I feel so proud to see such a neat and professional business. Alhamdolillah, we are living in our own home. The feel is completely different. After living in rentals all your life, finally knowing that there is a place you can call home, with no fear of being asked to vacate, no inspections, no rental harassment - all of this is surreal. ❤
