We were looking for financial advice as we had saved a deposit to buy our first home so we asked a friend who works in an estate agency for any recommendations. He provided us with several contacts that were appropriate for us. We called each and had an initial chat as we wanted to understand how a financial planner or adviser makes money so we would be aware of any other incentives that could impact the advice we would receive and may make it biased. We called Karina and immediately knew she could help us. She offered us an initial consultation so we could get to know one another. As it happened we exchanged enough information on our first call that when she came she had a very detailed plan already on which way to go. For our own 'peace of mind' we asked Karina to investigate some further options (as we had friends who had obtained a mortgage in the previous few weeks).
