About Kate Barnes

Kate Barnes is a Mortgage Broker who has been an Aussie broker since 2001, making her the longest-tenured broker in South Australia. Kate started as a mobile broker, before establishing Aussie West Lakes in 2006, which was the first franchise in South Australia. Kate was the sole franchisee for ten years and ran the store in partnership with three other brokers for a further five years. Kate is now a retail broker at Aussie Prospect and operates her business entirely on referrals and repeat customers, which speaks to the exceptional service she has provided over the past 21 years.

Kate has seen a lot of change to the industry during her time at Aussie and fully supports the way mortgages have evolved with the introduction of the best interests duty. She notes ‘this allows me to establish meaningful relationships with my customers, as we work together to establish what is best for them and their future’.
