A terrible experience for first home buyers. After more than 3 months of back and forth time wasting with Aussie Home Loans Subiaco trying to secure pre-approval, we were given incorrect information and poor support. Our broker, Nathaniel, abruptly left for a ski trip giving us no notice or thought. Still without securing pre-approval or any evidence he was working on our account with banks at all. Telling us on January 9th he will "submit our paperwork now" and that "turnaround time is 3 business days". Our last contact was January 13th giving him yet another lot of personal and financial information. We didn't hear from him until January 28th, where he still hadn't submitted any of our paperwork and was now skiing. But telling us that "shouldn't stop us from putting offers in". We gave up and went to another broker and secured a Letter of Eligibility on the same day. Nathaniel didn't even tell us that a Letter of Eligibility existed, or that was all we needed this whole time. We secured a home within less than a week with the new broker's help and a better mortgage rate than was ever quoted from Aussie Home Loans. Poor service, poor support, poor information, poor communication. It made us feel small and worthless in a market where buyers are plenty and homes are few, so we just simply don't matter to them. They get so many enquiries from people like us that we're entirely disposable. No respect for the fact that we're going to Aussie Home Loans for help with the biggest purchase decision we'll ever make in our lives. No respect that we're giving them years of financial information while they do nothing with it.
