If 6 stars were possible this would be it. The financial planning industry as a whole is wildly misunderstood. Most of the time because all we think they do is sell us insurance and give us advice about an event that will happen when we are 70 or better yet prepare us to make our relatives rich when we die. Then there is PJ and the team who are nothing like that. In fact they are the complete opposite and why I want to give them six stars. I met PJ at a conference, he was the best dressed there and I made a joke about it and that was it. We met again at another conference and chatted about the market, about wealth literacy and how the industry of fin planning needs a kick up the butt. After that I knew I wanted to see how he and the intrepid team worked. So I booked a meeting and provided some high level information. I was shocked to get a personal video explaining his interpretation of my situation in a general sense and inviting me to ask more, questions, seek further clarification and book a call. There was no pressure to work with him and this allowed me to understand more of their approach and way of looking at finance which was really important to me. They also took the time to really understand my goals. The actual advice he provided was instantly better than what I had received 12 months prior from a planner who was just lazy and not interested in really looking for the best options for me. PJ and his team recommended strategies that were clear, well modelled and made sense. They showed me a clear path to achieving my goals and in addition to the SOA I received another personalised video stepping me through the whole process and inviting more meetings to make sure I was comfortable throughout the process. His Team are amazing, they are super responsive and appreciate the creative names I give to my entities. Shannon is another team member and he support, responsiveness and openness to answer questions adds further comfort during the set up. Now it's all set and I am so comfortable and confident that I have made a good choice here. I feel heard and understood and always look forward to the general or personal videos that PJ sends out to show that he's not just giving the coin to a fund to manage he is actively involved and genuinely gives a shit about you..
