We recently made the decision to upgrade our first home to a larger property. We had a property in mind, and needed to know if it was feasible. After initially contacting the mortgage broker we used in our first purchase with no response, we called Rob Lees. Thank goodness we did. Rob promptly returned our call and within a very short period we knew where we stood, what we could spend and how it would affect our current mortgage. Our original mortgage was a little trickier than your standard arrangement, but this did not faze Rob. He was able to easily navigate AND talk us through our options and how the mortgage would play out in the long term. He provided comprehensive advice and was always available to answer our many questions. He even went one step further to help us sort out an issue with our existing home loan we had been having with our bank for a significant amount of time, all to ensure that we had the most comprehensive, stress free, customer focused experience possible. House hunting is fun until it gets to the business of borrowing, especially if you are a small business client. We often don’t fit into the simple, steady wage earner lending profiles. You can have big collateral, the banks want to see regular cash flow (or serviceability) Hmm? The current market is tight, real estate values dropping and it seems banks are ultra cautious. The team at Mortgage Choice worked hard to find a boutique lender who took a punt and we got pre-approval. With this in place we could house hunt in earnest! Found the right house, well within our borrowing budget but the boutique lender seemed to be taking their sweet time with valuations and unconditional approval despite the urging of our broker. Rob kept assuring us that this pattern had been emerging and not to worry. He also was professionally working and guiding us for a better facility, with a mainstream lender, that could be accessible once we had our 2018 financials in place. There were plenty of calls prior EOFY to make sure our results all met the new lender criteria. It was a team effort with our broker and accountants. It all seemed do-able. Hmm (here’s hoping??) Tax done, loan submitted and unconditionally approved in less than a week! AND around 2% better rate! I cannot tell you how patient, assuring and supportive Rob Lees & first receiver Corrine, and all the Mortgage Choice team had been through quite a stressful period. We are mature age clients, been through the lending process enough to recognise when a team has your back. This team delivered, ...and more! Thank you!!
