About Wil Conroy

Wil Conroy is a mortgage broker based in Bendigo, Victoria, and the founder of Vairo Finance.

He works with first home buyers, home owners looking to refinance, property investors, clients building or buying off the plan, and business owners needing commercial or self employed finance. Wil has also settled home loans for more than 50 Australian Defence Force members, which has given him a detailed working knowledge of how allowance based and non standard income is treated differently from one lender to the next.

That experience shapes how he approaches every file. Wil takes the view that the lender should be chosen to suit the client rather than the client being reshaped to suit the lender, and he will say early on when a scenario is not going to work rather than let a client spend an application finding out. A declined application leaves a mark on a credit file and makes the next one harder, so he prefers the direct conversation up front.

Through the Connective aggregator, Wil has access to more than 70 lenders including the major banks, second tier lenders and specialist lenders who consider scenarios the larger banks decline outright. That breadth matters most for clients whose circumstances are not textbook.

Clients deal with Wil directly from the first call through to settlement, not a processing team or a rotating contact. All recommendations are made under Best Interests Duty, and in most cases his service comes at no cost to the client, with the lender paying on settlement.
