Finance Broker George Popadalis is a commercial finance specialist and founder of Black Mountain Financial, a boutique advisory based in Canberra. With more than 20 years of experience in the finance industry, George works with developers, investors, and business owners across the ACT and regional NSW, bringing a structure-first approach to every deal he takes on.

George established Black Mountain Financial after seeing a consistent pattern in the lending world: ambitious borrowers being underserved, misinformed, or quietly taken advantage of by institutions more focused on margin than outcome. His answer was a firm built around relationships, not transactions, and around advice that genuinely protects the client's position.

His process is deliberate. Before any deal reaches a lender, Finance Broker George Popadalis works through the numbers, the entity structure, and the exit strategy. A clean structure produces better terms than any sales pitch, and when the structure says not to borrow, he says so. Every application is run by George personally, from the first conversation through to drawdown, with no junior handoffs and no volume game.

Black Mountain Financial operates with a panel of over 100 lenders, spanning major banks, non-bank lenders, and private credit funds. Rather than sending files to every lender available, George identifies the two or three who are genuinely active on the relevant deal type and goes directly to them. His core specialisations include development finance and construction lending, commercial property finance, business acquisition and M&A funding, and complex debt structuring.
